Salary Range: $22.00 To $26.00 Hourly

This position is ideal for a safety-focused, customer-oriented driver who enjoys local deliveries and a flexible, variable schedule. The Local Box Truck Driver is responsible for safely operating a box truck to deliver products and supplies to customers within the local service area, while providing professional and reliable customer service. Deliveries may include manually unloading products using a hand truck or pallet jack on truck ramps and returning equipment or materials to the warehouse as needed.

Work is scheduled based on business and customer needs, with operations generally occurring Monday through Friday; scheduled days and hours may vary from week to week. All duties must be performed safely, timely, and in accordance with Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). The position may also support warehouse or driving-related duties, including Production and Forklift, as needed.

• Perform all pre-trip responsibilities including: obtaining and reviewing driver itinerary, checking route and account numbers for assigned deliveries, counting items and checking customer invoices of products that have been loaded, completing required pre-trip safety check inspections of trucks and trailers according to Department of Transportation  to and deliver customer orders to meet the scheduled customer times and maintain adequate productivity rate to meet delivery schedules.
• Visually survey the customer's site during the approach to determine hazards.
• Unload and load products from the trailer with a hand truck, pallet jack or forklift.
• Verify delivery of correct items with customer and obtain proper signatures. Contact management for authorization of invoice discrepancies and communicate all errors and returns.
• Return to the warehouse when the route is completed.
• Perform all post-trip responsibilities: unloading damaged goods and customer returns and completing necessary paperwork; performing safety checks on the truck fueling (as required); parking and securing the tractor; completing DOT logs (electronic or manual as required) and company vehicle maintenance reports (DVIR) and reconcile these with the appropriate company representative as required.
• Attend all required company meetings and adhere to all safety practices and company policies.
• Follow division shift times, enter days of week and hours, and continue until the work is completed within DOT HOS regulations.
• Must satisfactorily complete all company-mandated training

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate and successfully pass a DOT physical administered by a certified medical examiner, as required for the vehicle and operation.
• Must meet company driving standards, including satisfactory motor vehicle record review, license verification, and applicable background and substance screening requirements.
• Minimum two years of commercial driving experience
• Must have basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English as it relates to the job and to the safety regulations.
• Candidate must possess a strong safety focus and background.
