Job Summary

The Safety Specialist will be a resource for both internal and external customers in all of their Health & Safety needs. The Safety Specialist will provide medical support for the facility as well as administrative support to the Safety Team in other related safety duties.

Key Responsibilities

* Monitor daily activities to ensure a safe work environment, through training, audits, inspections, and enforcement.

* Facilitate safety training and participate and/or lead incident investigations.

* Assist with safety projects including but not limited to lockout/tagout, job safety analysis, pre start-up safety reviews, and risk assessments.

* Partner with Human Resources, management and team members to promote a safety first culture.

* Perform internal administrative duties such as scheduling, training, and program management as needed.

* Collect and provide data on safety statistics and trends to the safety manager.

* Ensure compliance with all safety regulations.

* Partner with all departments of the organization.

* Responsible for administering first aid and cpr as needed.

* Perform duties as assigned by the Safety Manager.

* All other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

* Experience:

Minimum of 1 year of experience in a related role/field.

* Age:
Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.

* Authorization:
Must be authorized to work in the United States; no sponsor ships are available.

* Certification:
Certified CPR trainer is preferred.

* Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

* Skills:

Bilingual in English and Spanish is beneficial, Basic computer skills including Gmail/Google Suite products. Ability to problem solve. Must be dependable and be able to work well with others. Requires good customer service skills. Must be able to work with limited supervision. Good written and verbal communication is necessary.

* Flexibility:
Must be able to work overtime and/or weekends as needed. Ability to adjust quickly to changing demands. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment of continuous change and challenges.

* Compliance:
Must practice good personal hygiene. Candidates must successfully pass a post-offer/pre-employment drug test, background screen, physical and E-Verify.
