Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Building Maintenance
Night Shift Maintenance Worker
Shift: Monday–Friday, 2:30PM–11:00PM. Shift differential: $1.25/hr night position. Required plant checks every other weekend.
Responsibilities- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment, electrical systems, plumbing, and facility structures following safety and company standards.
- Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and calibration on equipment across the facility and surrounding grounds.
- Support automated systems by maintaining and testing components such as sensors, switches, and control devices.
- Complete basic inspections and repairs on refrigeration systems (ammonia, Freon, and/or CO₂ depending on site).
- Perform preventative maintenance on material handling equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Accurately document maintenance work, inspections, and equipment status, and communicate updates to leadership daily.
- Support additional maintenance tasks as needed to keep operations running smoothly.
- Use power tools, welding equipment, and cutting tools to repair or fabricate metal components.
- Operate lifts and other mobile equipment to safely access and maintain machinery and facility systems.
- At least 1 year of maintenance experience or a combination of experience and trade‑school education in building maintenance, material handling equipment, or refrigeration systems (ammonia, Freon, and/or CO₂).
- Ability to perform preventative maintenance with minimal supervision once trained.
- Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and basic maintenance equipment.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with teammates and leadership at all levels.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
Physical Requirements
- Work in temperature‑controlled environments, including cold storage (down to –20°F) and warmer dry storage areas (up to 100°F), with proper PPE provided.
- Able to lift up to 50lbs regularly (and occasionally more depending on the facility).
- Flexible availability, including occasional weekends or adjusted shifts as needed.
- Some locations may include higher noise levels or working at heights, with proper training and safety equipment provided.
