Overview
We are seeking an administrative healthcare assistant to join our team and play a crucial role in upholding our commitment to patient care and operational efficiency. You will be working closely with our Chief Compliance Officer, Billing and Finance Coordinators, and other departments to navigate complex regulatory landscapes and assist with daily operations. You will play a crucial role in keeping our team running seamlessly by assisting with daily administrative tasks, supporting staff, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for clients.
Responsibilities- Answer phone calls, take messages, and route calls to appropriate staff members.
- Assist in administering Apex Therapy Services’ compliance program, including supporting internal audits, monitoring activities, and performing compliance reviews.
- Support documentation and reporting for regulatory filings and audits.
- Participate in compliance-related projects and support ad-hoc requests from senior management.
- Insurance Verification:
Verify patient insurance coverage prior to appointments, confirming eligibility and benefits to ensure accurate billing. - Knowledge of insurance websites (i.e., Availity, Champs, and WPS/CSnap).
- Coordinate with clinical staff to confirm appointments and assist with scheduling as needed.
- Coordinate intake processes for new clients, including gathering necessary paperwork.
- Maintain accurate client records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Review and analyze clinical notes for accuracy and collaborate with clinical and billing teams to assist with the management of the billing spreadsheet.
- Maintain a high level of ongoing communication with administration in all areas relating to client and staff-related issues.
- High School Diploma.
- 1+ years of experience in health care administration is preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Familiarity with industry-specific regulations is a plus.
