Job Summary
Deploying staff as needed through Epic Tracker software. Supports department leadership by coordinating the day‑to‑day shift activities of Environmental Services and Patient Transportation. Role includes training new and existing employees, working side by side with management when applicable. General cleaning, floor maintenance and special project activities when applicable. Leads working on site with collective bargaining agreement in place will not perform bargaining unit work.
EssentialFunctions
- Coordinate shift activities to include produce daily staffing roster, adjust staff assignments as needed, monitor EPIC tracker for room cleans, equipment requests, and patient transports.
- Perform job duties as Patient Transporter, Environmental Attendants, or floor maintenance technicians.
- Work with Supervisor to safe and compliant use of chemicals products, use of equipment, and performance issues.
- Assist with training to include mandatory education, compliance, departmental training, and new employee orientation.
- Participate in hospital committees and special programs.
- Utilize the PFCC model for interactions with all customers internal and external.
- Manage and triage all incoming calls for the hospital, POB, Out Patient Service center, and Rehabilitation and Dialysis Center.
- Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures where appropriate and completes all position and unit safety related competencies and requirements on a timely basis.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- CRT
- Basic Life Support Instructor (BLS INSTR) AHA
- American Heart Association or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) ARC
- American Red Cross. - Excellent organization skills, written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent human relation/leadership skills.
- Knowledge and ability to appropriately apply hospital procedures, practices and Beaumont Health Values.
- Utilize Patient and Family Centered Care skills with patients and visitors.
- Computer knowledge to include Outlook email, and Epic Tracker software.
- Leadership training/education.
Preferred
- Working knowledge of both the EVS and patient Transport positions.
- Patient Transportation work experience.
- Leadership experience and/or some college coursework.
- Direct experience with EPIC tracker, email, phone system, and paging system.
- Trained in their prospective job (Transporter, Environmental Attendant or Floor Maintenance Technician).
