Trenton Hospital, a Magnet-designated LevelII trauma center located at 5450 Fort Street, Trenton, NJ, is hiring a Part‑time Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for the Med‑Surg Care Unit 4 on the 4th floor. The role is a day shift (6:30am – 7:00pm) with 24 scheduled hours each week. Corewell Health is offering a sign‑on bonus of up to $750 for new hires.

Unit4 Med‑Surg is a 38‑bed unit with all private rooms, including 4 bariatric‑capable rooms, 2 negative‑pressure rooms, and telemetry capability. The unit provides care for a diverse patient mix: renal issues, abdominal pain, complicated UTIs, postoperative patients, CIWA patients, psychiatric patients, SOB/COPD exacerbations, hospice, anemia, pneumonia, DVT, and seizure management. The team emphasizes patient safety and high‑quality scores.
Responsibilities- Assist licensed nursing staff in providing direct patient care and support unit environmental maintenance under RN supervision.
- Perform personal care and safety tasks for patients promptly, following procedures and patient care plans.
- Maintain an orderly unit environment with sufficient supplies and equipment to facilitate staff performance.
- Contribute to effective communication related to patient care and efficient unit operations.
- Facilitate admission, discharge, and transfer of patients on and off the unit in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- High School Graduate or equivalent.
- Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Completion of Corewell Health orientation.
- Previous hospital or nursing home experience (preferred).
- Current CNA certification (preferred).
Pay ranges between $17.74 and $21.72 per hour, depending on experience. The position offers the standard Corewell Health benefits package for part‑time employees, including retirement options and health coverage. Eligibility for benefits is determined by employment type and status.
