The Maintenance Technician position will perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities including installing, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining manufacturing, plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other building systems.
Functions- Diagnoses and repairs various equipment such as production assembly, press systems, hydraulic, electrical, CNC equipment and pneumatic systems.
- Identifies and inspects equipment or machines in need of repair.
- Plans repair work using building blueprints or equipment manuals as needed.
- Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include cleaning or changing filters, cleaning cooling coils, topping off fluids, preventive maintenance of equipment, repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures, changing lights, electrical outlets, switches, etc.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Cleaning up machinery, area, and messes after repairs are completed.
- Minor computer input for maintenance programs.
- Assists lead technician when needed.
- The candidate possesses at least 1 year’s experience in CNC machining centers, mills, lathes, EDMs.
- Experience with Mikron, Fanuc, and Haas controls is a plus.
- Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Understanding of Control I/O cards and how to troubleshoot.
- Understands the relationship between axis motors and feedback systems for each axis.
- Strong machine‑tool alignment experience.
- Mechanical background in installing axis linear guides, ball screws, saddles & slides.
- Experience in laser positioning and applying compensation for machine‑tool axes.
- Experience in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, axis drive, motor alarms, spindles, encoders.
- Press hydraulics experience is a plus.
- Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers.
- General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry and repairs.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Unable to drive forklift, scissor lift, or man lift.
Note:
scissor and man lifts require the ability to work from heights; on‑the‑job training will be provided if necessary. - Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
- Fabrication skills are a plus.
- Able to learn basic machinery commands to aid with machinery troubleshooting.
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Related experience preferred.
- On‑the‑job training offered.
- Prolonged periods standing and walking.
- Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Able to work with oils, solvents, minor dust, and wear all required PPE.
