Hybrid role for a 1+ year Public or Corporate Accountant. Participate in the corporate accounting cycles including account reconciliations, financial reporting, and general accounting activities. Make an impact improving accounting processes through technology, automation, and data analysis.
Responsibilities- Assist with monthly and quarterly close activities, including preparation and review of journal entries.
- Investigate unusual balances, transactions, or fluctuations and coordinate with appropriate business partners to resolve issues.
- Prepare account analyses, supporting schedules, and financial information.
- Support preparation of management reporting and financial statement schedules.
- Perform monthly General Ledger reconciliations.
- Respond to information requests from internal and external auditors and provide appropriate documentation.
- Provide accounting support to related functions as needed.
- Assist with accounting research and the resolution of accounting questions. Review transactions and supporting documentation to determine appropriate accounting treatment.
- Maintain records for company assets, expenditures, and related accounting activities.
- Help identify opportunities to automate repetitive work and improve the quality and efficiency of financial analysis.
- Use spreadsheets, reporting tools, and technology solutions to analyze financial information and identify trends or exceptions.
- Participate in special projects and other accounting initiatives as assigned.
- BS in Accounting or Finance
- 1+ years of public accounting, general accounting, or reporting experience.
- Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
- Strong Excel and spreadsheet skills, including experience working with large and complex datasets.
- Ability to research discrepancies, analyze financial information, and reach well-supported conclusions.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with colleagues and business partners outside of accounting.
- Interest in using automation and emerging technology to improve accounting and analytical work.
- CPA certification or progress toward the CPA is a plus, but not required.
