Job Summary:The Staffing Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that the skilled nursing facility is staffed appropriately to provide high-quality care to residents. This role involves creating and managing staff schedules, coordinating shift coverage, and maintaining accurate staffing records. The Staffing Coordinator works closely with the nursing team to address staffing needs and ensures compliance with all regulatory and facility requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts.
- Adjust schedules based on staffing needs, availability, and absences.
- Coordinate with the Director of Nursing to address any staffing shortages or overages.
- Communicate with nursing staff regarding schedule changes, open shifts, and availability.
- Arrange for coverage in the event of staff call-outs or emergencies.
- Maintain an on-call list for last-minute staffing needs.
- Ensure staffing levels meet state and federal regulations and facility policies.
- Maintain accurate records of staff attendance, overtime, and leave.
- Prepare staffing reports and analyze trends to optimize scheduling practices.
- Collaborate with nursing leadership to anticipate and plan for staffing needs.
- Serve as a liaison between staff and management regarding scheduling issues.
- Provide regular updates to the Director of Nursing on staffing status and challenges.
- Assist with the recruitment and onboarding process for new staff members.
- Coordinate orientation and training schedules for new hires.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in staffing, scheduling, or a related role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in scheduling software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and staffing requirements.
