Description Assists the head of a Bureau or Service in a state department, institution, or agency by performing and coordinating administrative support services: does other related work. Specific to the Position Provide support to NJDEP Human Resources in the areas of workplace accommodations, workplace violence prevention, labor relations, and employee corrective and disciplinary actions. Coordinate and participate in interactive process meetings and workplace violence investigatory meetings;
gather and document pertinent information; maintain confidential case files and electronic tracking records; and prepare investigative reports, determination letters, outcome letters, and other related correspondence. Consult with program management regarding accommodation requests and coordinate equipment needs with Facilities. Assist with union release requests and information inquiries, including providing WDEA information to union representatives as needed. Support program management with employee performance and conduct matters by coordinating meetings, hearings, interviews and assisting with the preparation of Records of Counseling, Written Warnings, and other corrective and disciplinary documents.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, professional communication, note-taking, and the ability to handle confidential information are essential. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and electronic tracking systems is preferred. This position offers the opportunity to support NJDEP employees and management while contributing to effective workplace accommodation, employee relations, labor relations, and workplace violence prevention processes.
Requirements Applicants must meet one of the following or a combination of both experience and education. Thirty (30) semester hour credits are equal to one (1) year of relevant experience. Five (5) years of professional experience in a business or government agency providing administrative support services and/or coordinating work activities. OR Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university;
and one (1) year of the above-mentioned professional experience.

"Professional experience" refers to work that is analytical, evaluative, and interpretive; requires a range of basic knowledge of the profession's concepts and practices; and is performed with the authority to act and make accurate and informed decisions.
