Estimator / Sales – Residential Construction (Additions, Kitchens, Baths, Interiors, Basements)

Big Dog Construction – Ocean Twp, NJ

Full-time | In-office

Big Dog Construction is growing fast, and we are looking for an experienced, detail‑driven Estimator/Sales Professional who can confidently perform take‑offs, measurements, and produce accurate estimates for residential remodeling and addition projects.

We need someone efficient, reliable, and capable of owning this role from day one.

Responsibilities

Perform accurate field measurements, site visits, and quantity takeoffs

Prepare detailed estimates, scopes of work, and budgets for:

  • Home additions
  • Kitchens
  • Bathrooms
  • Interior renovations
  • Basements

Review architectural plans, engineer drawings, and client sketches

Determine material quantities, labor requirements, and subcontractor pricing

Present estimates to clients and assist with sales process

Work with the project management team to hand off approved jobs

Maintain and update estimating templates, pricing, and cost databases

Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, vendors, and team members

Requirements

2+ years of estimating experience in residential construction (required)

Ability to complete accurate takeoffs and square footage calculations

Strong understanding of residential building components, current pricing, and construction methods

Proficiency with estimating software (Buildertrend, CoConstruct, Clear Estimates, Plan Swift, or similar)

Ability to read architectural plans and structural drawings

Strong organizational and time‑management skills

Excellent communication during client interactions

High level of accuracy — no “close enough” estimating

Ideal Candidate

Comfortable walking jobsites and taking precise measurements

Enjoys turning homeowner conversations into clear, professional estimates
