The Project Superintendent is responsible for each employee that steps foot on his or her jobsite, and all work they do. Qualifications
  • Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner
  • Communication skills, verbal and written (Advanced)
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Intermediate)
  • Ability to apply fundamentals of the means and methods of construction management to projects
  • Thorough knowledge of project processes and how each supports the successful completion of a project
  • Ability to build relationships with team members that transcend a project
  • Proficiency in project scheduling/look-ahead planning
  • Knowledge of self-perform and labor productivity
  • Knowledge of organizational structure and available resources
  • Knowledge of layout skill (Intermediate)
  • Ability to understand document changes and impact to the project schedule
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, internally and externally
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 3+ years construction experience
  • 1+ years field supervision experience
  • Valid and unrestricted driver's license required
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
  • May require periods of travel and/or relocation
  • Must be willing to work non-traditional hours to meet project needs
  • Frequent activity:

Responsibilities Safety
  • Aid in development of Site Specific Safety Plan (SSSP) and manage adherence to this plan onsite
  • Act as the company safety lead in the absence of a safety officer
  • Develop and instruct the men in safety policy and command compliance
  • Handle Daily Hazard Analysis’s and review before each work day. Any employee that refuses to sign will be dismissed from your project
  • Ensure each project has the required safety materials and tools needed to follow Owner, General Contractor, and Silverback company safety policies
  • Be or become OSHA 30 certified
  • Ensure every Silverback employee on their project adheres to the Zero-Tolerance Drug Policy
  • Designate equipment operators for project. Licensed individuals may be the only personnel allowed to operate on Silverback projects
  • Coordinate with General Contractor safety officer for clarification on policies and any changing environments that would cause safety hazards
  • Complete or delegate equipment safety checks daily. Replace or repair any defective tools or machinery. Broken or ineffective tools or equipment will be tagged and removed until able to safely work at manufacturer standard
  • Issue and regulate PPE for employees
  • Assist the Project Manager in determining the necessary material and equipment needed to perform the work on each project
  • Schedule equipment and material deliveries to correlate with the project schedule
  • Work with the General Contractor to develop (and maintain) project schedules and look-ahead plans
  • Attend all weekly scheduling meetings as projects schedules adjust
  • Engage with crews in the field. Begin work each day directing foremen and crew leads on what their tasks will be for the day and help answer any questions or clarifications needed for the men to perform their work
  • Understand drawings for the project and be proactive in identifying potential issues before they arise
  • Coordinate between the shop drawings and project drawings to completely envision and understand how the project will be built
