Interior Designer

Our client is seeking a Interior Designer/Specifier to translate client design concepts and space requirements into detailed furniture specifications for commercial interior projects. This role is responsible for developing furniture layouts, creating accurate product specifications, and collaborating with internal teams and clients to ensure projects meet design, functional, and budget objectives.

• Develop space plans, furniture layouts, and floor plans based on architectural drawings and client requirements.
• Create detailed furniture specifications, including product selections, finishes, dimensions, quantities, and configurations.
• Coordinate with Sales and Purchasing teams to ensure accurate pricing, product availability, and manufacturer lead times.
• Present design concepts, renderings, and product recommendations to clients while collaborating with architects and design teams.
• Maintain specification accuracy through project revisions, change orders, and value engineering initiatives.
• Stay current on manufacturer product lines, industry trends, and available finishes and materials.
• Maintain organized project documentation, specification files, and revision history to ensure installation-ready deliverables.

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or a related field.
• 1–3 years of commercial interior design or furniture specification experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and furniture specification software such as 2020 CAP/Spec or CET.
• Familiarity with commercial furniture manufacturers such as Teknion, Steelcase, Herman Miller, or Haworth is preferred.
• Experience with Sketch Up, Revit, or other rendering software is a plus.
• Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to sit for extended periods, work at a computer, and lift up to 15 pounds as needed.
