JOB DUTIES

Reporting to the Dean, the Adjunct Faculty member provides instruction and support to students in the Electronics Engineering Technology program. The instructor facilitates student learning through classroom, laboratory, and applied technical instruction, effectively utilizing college resources, equipment, facilities, and educational technologies to enhance student engagement and achievement. Adjunct faculty at Mercer County Community College (MCCC) play a vital role in preparing students for careers in electronics, engineering technology, and related industries by fostering technical competency, critical thinking, and practical problem-solving skills while supporting the mission of the College.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Deliver classroom and laboratory instruction using a variety of teaching methods, instructional technologies, and the College's learning management system.
  • Assess and evaluate student learning through assignments, examinations, projects, and other course-related activities.
  • Advise, mentor, and support students through individual and group interactions, including scheduled office hours and tutoring.
  • Maintain accurate student records, provide timely feedback, and submit grades in accordance with established deadlines.
  • Participate in required adjunct faculty responsibilities, including meetings, training, and other assigned departmental activities.
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment that serves students from diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic, and disability backgrounds.

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Must have a flexible work schedule which would include teaching course loads on evenings.
  • Will be expected to work on both campuses, JKC and West Windsor.
  • Salary / pay is based on instructional hours taught in the semester.
  • Final course assignment is based upon sufficient enrollment and govern by faculty union guidelines.
  • Teaching modality:
    In Person
  • Tentative schedule:
    Fall semester (late-August to mid-December) and Digital Technology in the Spring semester (late January to early May) on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
  • Please note that assigned tasks and responsibilities span both campuses for all MCCC positions.
ADA AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Positions in this class typically require: ability to use a key board, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

Sedentary Work:

Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
