Engineer, Safety Engineer

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Engineer with NICET certification to join our team in New Jersey. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience in inspection, testing, design, and compliance of fire protection systems (or relevant systems as applicable), ensuring adherence to NFPA standards and local/state regulations.

• Perform inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm and/or fire protection systems in accordance with NFPA codes and NJ state regulations.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports, deficiency reports, and system documentation.
• Ensure all systems comply with local, state, and federal safety standards.
• Coordinate with project managers, contractors, AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction), and clients.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Assist in system design, layout, and calculations (as required).
• Support project installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and certification records.
• Provide technical guidance to technicians and junior staff.
• Stay updated with changes in NFPA codes, NICET standards, and NJ compliance requirements.

• NICET Certification (Level II, III, or IV preferred depending on role requirements).
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Protection, or related field preferred).
• 3+ years of relevant experience (depending on certification level).
• Strong knowledge of NFPA codes and New Jersey state regulations.
• Experience with fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, or related systems.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong communication and reporting skills.
• Valid driver’s license (if field-based role).
