🌍 The OpportunityAs a technical leader in corrosion modeling, you will drive the advancement of state-of-the-art simulation technologies that address real-world industrial problems. You’ll work in a multidisciplinary environment alongside researchers, engineers, and software developers to build highly accurate, predictive models that influence sustainability, reliability, and asset lifecycle management worldwide.
- Model Development: Advance next-generation corrosion simulation technologies grounded in first-principles science.
- Technical Leadership: Help shape and guide a growing project portfolio, identifying new research directions aligned with industry needs.
- Industrial Customization: Tailor and optimize models for applications in oil & gas, metals & mining, power generation, water treatment, and related sectors.
- Client Engagement: Collaborate with industry partners to ensure modeling solutions meet complex simulation requirements and provide expert interpretation.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with physical property researchers, process engineers, and software developers to solve challenging technical problems.
- Research Partnerships: Engage with universities and national laboratories on joint theoretical and experimental initiatives, particularly in sustainability and asset integrity.
- PhD in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physical Chemistry, or related discipline with a focus on corrosion science and engineering
- Postdoctoral experience (academia or industry) preferred
- Strong research background in corrosion modeling and simulation
- Experience analyzing and interpreting experimental data
- Familiarity with corrosion mitigation strategies and material selection standards
- Knowledge of conventional chemical processes (upstream/downstream oil & gas or chemical sectors)
- Experience with thermodynamic/phase equilibrium modeling preferred
- 5+ years of industrial corrosion experience (modeling, mitigation, or material selection) preferred
- Scientific programming experience (Python, C++, MATLAB, Fortran)
- Expertise in regression analysis, model parameterization, and optimization
- Experience with process simulation platforms (e.g., Aspen, HYSYS, Pro/II)
- Exposure to hybrid modeling approaches (PINNs, AI/ML) is advantageous
