Environmental Engineer, Environmental Compliance
As an Environmental Engineer at Trenton, NJ plant, you will be responsible for the implementation and management of environmental compliance systems, ensuring that our facilities operate in an environmentally sound and sustainable manner while meeting corporate, local, state, and federal regulations.
Responsibilities- Primary responsibility for Air, Water and Waste compliance with secondary responsibility for safety compliance.
- Create and maintain environmental management systems to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, site permits, and corporate standards.
- Serve as the primary interface with regulatory agencies, preparing required documentation, scheduling and performing necessary testing, and providing follow‑up documentation.
- Manage on‑site wastewater treatment system, focusing on optimization of water treatment strategy and waste reduction measures.
- Conduct site assessments to ensure adherence to company policies, programs, and compliance with state, local, and federal regulations.
- Provide support and leadership during audits by state and federal regulatory agencies.
- Offer facility leadership timely guidance on new or changing compliance requirements.
- Provide technical expertise to site manufacturing and engineering personnel in evaluating the environmental impacts of changes to manufacturing processes, chemical use, and building design.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Chemistry, or a related engineering field.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of environmental compliance regulations, including US EPA Title V, RCRA, SARA, TRI, SPCC and NJ DEP:
Community Right to Know. - Minimum of 1–3 years of environmental compliance experience in an industrial setting.
- Excellent computer skills:
Excel, MS Office, Outlook, and knowledge of RADIUS and Oracle is a plus. - Ability to use innovative approaches to process improvement and problem solving.
- Detail‑oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Self‑starter with strong initiative.
Annual base salary range: $75,600.00 – $. Compensation is determined by factors such as seniority, merit, geographic location, education, experience, travel requirements, and union designation.
