Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Estimator with a strong background in MTA, Transit, Railroad, and Heavy Civil Infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates, analyzing drawings and specifications, developing budgets, and supporting competitive bids for rail and transportation projects. Experience with agencies such as MTA, NJ Transit, Amtrak, LIRR, Metro-North, or other railroad authorities is highly preferred.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred)
- 2+ years of estimating experience supporting transit, railroad, heavy civil, or transportation infrastructure project
- Experience with MTA, NJ Transit, Amtrak, Metro-North, LIRR, or similar agency
- Strong knowledge of rail systems, trackwork, stations, bridges, utilities, and infrastructure construction methods
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
- Experience preparing cost estimates, budgets, and change order pricing
- Proficiency with estimating software such as Heavy Bid, HCSS, Bluebeam, Timberline/Sage, On-Screen Takeoff, or similar tools
