Land Use Planner
We are seeking a Land Use Planner to manage and contribute to a variety of projects, including master plans, redevelopment studies, zoning ordinances, affordable housing plans, and environmental analyses. This role involves conducting research, preparing reports, and developing public outreach materials, as well as facilitating stakeholder engagement through meetings, presentations, and public testimony. The Land Use Planner will coordinate with internal teams and external consultants to ensure timely and high-quality project delivery, applying knowledge in areas such as sustainability, transit-oriented development, green infrastructure, and land preservation.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and contribute to master plans, redevelopment studies, zoning ordinances, affordable housing plans, and environmental analyses.
- Conduct research and prepare reports.
- Develop public outreach materials.
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement through meetings, presentations, and public testimony.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants to ensure timely and high-quality project delivery.
- Apply knowledge in areas such as sustainability, transit-oriented development, green infrastructure, and land preservation.
- Articulate project scopes and develop project schedules and tasks.
- Research and analyze documents and conditions relating to planning projects.
- Write and assemble reports and documents using text and graphics.
- Organize and participate in meetings with clients, stakeholders, public, and approving authorities.
- Manage elements of projects, colleagues, allied professionals, and sub-consultants.
- Conduct public presentations, outreach, and testimony.
Essential
Skills:
- Urban planning and land planning expertise.
- AICP Certification.
- Master's Degree in Community, Regional, Urban, or City Planning.
- 5 years or more of relevant planning experience.
- Proficiency in public engagement and regulatory processes.
- Knowledge of planning best practices and concepts.
Additional Skills &
Qualifications:
- Interest in comprehensive planning, mobility, and innovative zoning strategies.
- Experience in landscape architecture, land development, urban development, permitting, environmental regulations, and environmental compliance.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Trenton, NJ.
Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $57.00 - $72.11/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
