Project Manager
- Mechanical
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager
- Mechanical to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of mechanical and HVAC construction projects. The ideal candidate will manage project schedules, budgets, subcontractors, procurement, quality control, and client relations to ensure safe, timely, and profitable completion of projects. This role requires strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, hands-on construction site experience, and the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams across all project phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical and HVAC project delivery from pre-construction through closeout, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives are met.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, cost estimates and budgets; proactively manage changes and forecasts to meet financial targets.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, trades, and internal teams to ensure work is executed to specifications, codes and safety standards.
- Manage procurement and materials logistics, including vendor selection, purchase orders, and delivery coordination to prevent schedule impacts.
- Perform regular site inspections and enforce quality control, commissioning and start-up procedures for mechanical systems (HVAC, piping, controls).
- Prepare and review project documentation including contracts, submittals, RFIs, change orders, progress reports and punch lists.
- Serve as primary client and stakeholder contact, leading meetings, providing status updates, and addressing technical or commercial issues promptly.
- Identify risks and implement mitigation plans; ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety on site.
- Mentor and develop junior staff, providing guidance on mechanical design interpretation, installation best practices and construction management techniques.
- Collaborate with design teams to review shop drawings, system layouts, and constructability to optimize performance and cost-efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive project management experience in mechanical/HVAC construction with demonstrable project delivery successes.
- Proven knowledge of mechanical systems including HVAC, hydronics, piping, controls and familiarity with building codes and standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, local codes).
- Experience managing budgets, schedules and contracts; proficient with project management tools (MS Project, Primavera or similar) and Microsoft Office suite.
- Technical skills with AutoCAD/Revit and ability to review drawings and shop drawings for constructability and coordination.
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to negotiate with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Certifications preferred: PMP, CCM, Professional Engineer (PE) or LEED accreditation; OSHA 30 or equivalent safety training.
- Comfortable working on active construction sites; valid drivers license and willingness to travel to project locations as required.
