About the Role
Wells Fargo is hiring a Lead Business Aligned Finance Analyst to support Technology Finance within the Chief Data Office (CDO). Reporting to the CDO CFO, this role provides end-to-end financial oversight across assigned portfolios, including operating expenses, investment planning, headcount, vendor management, efficiency initiatives, and FP&A. The position is responsible for turning complex financial and technical information into clear, decision-ready insight for senior technology and finance leaders.
It partners closely with the CDO Finance Manager, CDO Product Finance Leads, and the Data Leadership Team to support planning, operating reviews, leadership discussions, and executive presentations. This is a hybrid role based in Iselin, NJ (Metro Park) or Charlotte, NC (Brigham). A key part of the role is also improving finance processes, including through AI-enabled approaches, to increase transparency and speed.
- Consolidate actuals, forecasts, budgets, headcount, and investment spend across the CDO product portfolio into a leadership-level view.
- Translate product financial results into business context, including implications, tradeoffs, risks, and financial impact.
- Build executive-ready materials from multiple product and leadership inputs to support prioritization and decision-making.
- Partner with the CDO Finance Manager, CDO CFO, CDO Product Finance Leads, and Data Leadership Team on planning, reviews, and presentations.
- Support annual planning, monthly forecasting, month-end close, plan transfers, reporting, and ad hoc analysis.
- Deliver financial commentary, BURs, IBRs, RTB/CTB commentary, and variance analysis for both product-level and consolidated views.
- Track vendor spend across software, professional services, SOWs, and non-labor investments.
- Prepare vendor spend review materials covering run-rate, commitments, pipeline, risks, and optimization opportunities.
- Validate vendor spend assumptions and align forecasts for new deals, renewals, expansions, and exits.
- Identify and implement process improvements, including AI-enabled solutions, to improve transparency and finance deliverables.
- 5+ years of finance experience, or equivalent experience gained through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
- Strong analytical ability, finance systems expertise, relationship management, and the ability to translate large, complex data sets into executive-ready narratives.
- Experience supporting technology, data, infrastructure, or cloud financial portfolios in a large, complex organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Strong FP&A background, including budgeting, forecasting, accruals, allocations, and actuals.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building with internal and external partners.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to influence and deliver difficult messages professionally.
- Ability to work independently, assess risk, resolve issues, and maintain strong attention to detail.
- Experience supporting finance transformation, automation, or process improvement initiatives.
- Familiarity with enterprise planning systems such as Apptio, data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau, and emerging AI technologies.
