SCHEDULE:

Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., full-time

LOCATION:

Trenton, NJ POSITION(S) AVAILABLE: 1 POSITION OVERVIEW:

Under the supervision of the Records Manager, the Records Analyst 3 plays an essentialrole in implementing, evaluating, and improving Mercer County's records management program. This position works collaboratively with Records Management staff and County departments to identify and address records-related needs and support effective records management practices County-wide.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and customer-service focused, with an interest in learning and applying new skills.

REQUIREMENTS:

NOTE:

Applicants must meet one of the following or a combination of education and experience. Thirty (30) semester-hour credits are equal to one (1) year of relevant experience.

Five (5) years of professional experience involving the review, analysis, and evaluation of records management systems and administrative practices, including recommending improved methods in a business, government agency, archives, orrelated setting.

OR

Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of the above-mentioned professional experience.

OR

Possession of a master's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Library and Information Science, or a related field from an accredited college or university.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist with implementing,evaluating, and improving the County's records management program.
  • Promote proper procedures for handling, maintaining, storing, and preserving County records.
  • Assist in developing preservation practices for physical and electronic records and data.
  • Support disaster preparedness,records recovery, and business continuity planning.
  • Assist in developing and delivering records management training for County employees.
  • Facilitate public access torecords as authorized by Mercer County Administration.
  • Maintain productive relationships with County departments, stakeholders, and service providers.
  • Stay current on records management standards, best practices, and emerging technologies.
  • Perform other related dutiesas assigned.
KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of records management principles, practices, and electronic records systems.
  • Strong organizational,analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Ability to interpret and apply records management rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to identify records-related needs and develop practical solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with County departments and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365and ability to learn records and information management systems.
  • Knowledge or experience in archival preservation and training development is a plus.
