• Formulates programs/groups for treatment and rehabilitation of psychiatric patients.
• Facilitates achieving the goals and objectives of discussion groups, activity groups, and patient health teaching groups.
• Performs routine patient care duties under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.
• Intervenes with critical patients such as escalating of behavior, suicidal behavior, elopement and other emergency situations occurring.
• Performs admission procedures and monitors patients whose behavior may warrant use of special precautions.
• Counsels, instructs and provides support to patients in the performance of routine activities of daily living.
• Identifies and responds to patients in crisis, provides addictions related education and teaches life skills.
• Performs duties to enable the patient to integrate social skills within the framework of milieu therapy.
• Participates in unit based activities and continuing education activities.
