This technical, hands-on/on-site role requires someone who is adept at managing the complexities of HR operations and employee relations complaints. The successful candidate will excel at balancing multiple responsibilities, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and be prepared to handle all HR-related tasks as required.
Core Responsibilities
Employee Relations & Performance
• Serve as the primary HR point of contact for employee relations issues across the organization
• Advise and coach managers on discipline, performance management, and corrective action
• Support and lead investigations, conflict resolution, and sensitive employee matters
• Draft and issue coaching, warning, and termination documentation
• Promote a culture of accountability, professionalism, and respect
HR Compliance & Workplace Risk
• Compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
• Coordinate with third-party leave and workers' compensation vendors
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure required notices and filings are completed
• Identify risk trends and escalate issues to HR leadership
Workforce & Field HR Operations
• Manage the full employee life cycle for assigned locations, including onboarding, transfers, promotions, and terminations
• Ensure required HR documentation and approvals are completed accurately and on time
• Partner with leadership on staffing, engagement, and retention strategies
• Support employee onboarding, orientation, and offboarding
Partnership & Culture
• Serve as a trusted advisor to managers on people strategy, communication, and compliance
• Lead or support engagement, morale, and retention initiatives
• Participate in HR projects and initiatives that support business and growth goals
• Provide reporting and insights to HR leadership on people trends and operational risks
Requirements
• Sound judgment with the ability to assess complex, emotionally charged situations, distinguish real risk from noise, and make fair, legally sound decisions that protect both the organization and its people.
- Bachelor's degree in HR or related field; equivalent experience considered in lieu of degree.
• 2+ years of experience in strong employee relations/investigations
• Time management skills - work under pressure & managing a changing work load
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate with tact and diplomacy.
• Effective at capturing and synthesizing information from multiple parties
• Solid and hands-on understanding of human resources practices to include leave of absence laws.
• Ability to handle sensitive and highly personal information daily and maintain confidentiality in a mature and insightful manner.
• Advanced Microsoft Office Skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
