Senior Business Systems Analyst with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Products

Reporting to the product management team, we are looking for a Sr Business Systems Analyst for Microsoft Dynamics. This role will be the Subject Matter Expert for the Microsoft Dynamics 365 products and Vertex’s integrations across Dynamics 365 in a hybrid of technical and functional responsibilities. Accountable for supporting Microsoft/Vertex sales cycles from a product roadmap, feature/functionality, and integration perspective. The focus will be on creating new features, identifying gaps in products, and enabling Vertex product and engineering teams with implementing Sales and Use Tax solutions for Microsoft Dynamics.

This person is the critical link between business objectives and technology solutions, and is a collaborative partner responsible for delivering the right features to the Dynamics 365 suite.

You are the subject matter expert for the Microsoft Dynamics 365 products. You will become the go‑to person for Vertex’s integrations between Indirect Tax solutions and Dynamics 365 in a hybrid of functional and technical responsibilities with the ability to leverage the systems, applications and processes. You will be responsible for identifying the gap for implementing Sales Tax automation into business processes and workflows within Dynamics 365.

You will be a key member of the Vertex Product Go‑To‑Market team and leverage relevant industry experience to drive measurable growth through development and expansion of Vertex integrations with Microsoft Dynamics suite. Additional responsibilities include knowledge transfer to Vertex engineers, assisting the Support team personnel in strategic client engagements, and acting as a Microsoft Dynamics SME for the Vertex team.

• D365 SME is responsible for delivering the features defined in the product roadmap for integrating Vertex Indirect tax solutions to the Microsoft Dynamics 365 product suite.
• Engage stakeholders to obtain and document requirements.
• Assess customer and business expectations and transform them into requirements.
• Create proof of concepts and lead the requirements gathering process for developing solutions.
• Create new epics and break down user stories for the engineering team.
• Communicate with management and stakeholders.
• Coordinate with system administrators, developers, and architects.
• Analyze data and produce business insights.
• Facilitate the delivery of business solutions.
• Support the Microsoft Ecosystem with the following outcomes:
• Understand the Microsoft integrations, enhancements and new initiative opportunities that feed into the Microsoft Integration Product Roadmap.
• Collaborate with Product Management by gathering feature and function requirements from clients/partners for existing and new initiatives.
• Collaborate with Product Manager and Engineering in planning efforts to align with Vertex delivery.
• Serve as D365 SME for Direct and Indirect Sales teams, Consulting, and Product Support.
• Participate on daily Scrum calls, meetings, product roadmap, and in program execution.
• Other functions may be assigned, and management retains the right to add or change the duties at any time.

• Strong functional and technical knowledge of Microsoft D365 platform, especially Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, Sales/CRM, D365 Finance and Operations.
• Understanding of Agile development process.
• Knowledge of Microsoft App Source.
• Strong project management skills.
• Desirable: knowledge and experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Field Service.
• Desirable:
  Experience implementing full life cycle ERP/Tax applications (a plus).
• Capable of coordinating features across the portfolio of products within different lines of business.
• Understanding of product lifecycle from definition to end of life.
• Experience working with Engineering teams and coordinating with product management team.
