Security Operations Manager

Our client is a well-established Managed Services Provider (MSP) with a strong reputation for delivering secure, customer-focused IT solutions to organizations across a range of industries. As they continue to expand their cybersecurity offering, they are seeking an experienced Security Operations Manager to lead their growing Security team and help shape the future of their managed security services.

As the Security Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading the day-to-day delivery of managed security services while mentoring and developing a team of Security Analysts. Acting as the primary escalation point for security incidents, you will oversee investigations, support incident response activities and work closely with clients to strengthen their overall security posture.

You’ll also play a key role in evolving security processes, improving operational efficiency and advising clients on security best practices, compliance requirements and strategic security improvements.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing technical leadership, operational management and client-facing advisory responsibilities within an MSP environment.

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of Security Analysts through coaching, performance management and technical guidance.
• Oversee security monitoring, incident response, investigations and escalation management.
• Act as the primary technical escalation point for complex security incidents.
• Conduct security assessments and provide practical recommendations to improve client security posture.
• Advise clients on cybersecurity best practices, security strategy and compliance requirements.
• Support compliance initiatives across frameworks such as HIPAA, SOC 2 and cyber insurance requirements.
• Manage and optimize security technologies including endpoint protection, identity management, email security and vulnerability management platforms.
• Develop and improve operational processes, documentation, reporting and service delivery standards.
• Collaborate with internal teams and clients to identify opportunities for continuous security improvement.
• Contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of managed security services.

• 5+ years of experience within Cybersecurity, Security Operations or Information Security.
• 2+ years of experience leading or mentoring a Security Operations or SOC team.
• Strong understanding of security operations, incident response and security monitoring.
• Experience with Microsoft security technologies such as Microsoft Defender, Entra , Defender XDR or Microsoft Sentinel.
• Experience conducting security assessments, risk reviews and security posture improvement initiatives.
• Working knowledge of security frameworks and compliance requirements including HIPAA, SOC 2 and cyber insurance standards.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience with in an MSP, MSSP or highly regulated environment would be highly advantageous.
