Technical Testing Resource

The Office of Management & Budget (OMB) is recruiting for a Technical Testing resource to perform manual front-end testing on a web-based budgeting application (EDISON Budget System). This position will be responsible for reviewing and updating UAT test plans; executing testing plans and performing validations within the EDISON system; documenting testing results, issues, and errors. Skills include manual front-end testing on web-based budgeting applications.

Experience with testing tools such as Testlink or similar is required. Experience with application security testing is a plus, with a preference for one resource specializing in security testing. Statistical, accounting, or budget knowledge is a plus. Experience with creating/running SQL queries, MS Access DB, and MS Excel pivot tables is also a plus. The candidate must meet time estimates for assigned tasks, communicate accurate and useful status updates, follow quality standards, work in a team environment, and possess strong communication skills, both written and spoken.

The role involves defining product test plans and criteria for acceptance, developing an understanding of system business requirements supported by the Test team, and resolving testing process questions/issues. The candidate should also assist in the planning, creation, and control of the test environments, determine time estimates and schedule for work efforts, define and utilize entry/exit criteria for testing, anticipate and resolve issues specific to the team, and determine time estimates and schedule for own work and resolve issues in a timely manner.
