Assistant Municipal Prosecutor

Hourly Rate: $65/hour
Job SummaryThe Assistant Municipal Prosecutor supports the Municipal Prosecutor in performing routine prosecutorial functions in municipal court. Duties include reviewing police reports, evaluating charges, negotiating plea agreements, appearing for court sessions, and conducting trials under supervision. The Assistant Prosecutor will ensure that ordinance violations, traffic offenses and other matters brought before municipal court are handled fairly and expeditiously, helping to reduce backlog and support the Township’s prosecutorial infrastructure.
Qualifications- Licensed to practice law in New Jersey.
- At least three (3) years of courtroom experience, preferably involving municipal court or criminal/ordinance prosecution.
- Familiarity with municipal statutes, traffic code, ordinance violations and discovery obligations.
- Strong organizational, negotiation and courtroom advocacy skills.
- Ability to coordinate with municipal court staff, law enforcement agencies and municipal attorneys.
$65.00 per hour
