The Nissenbaum Law Group is seeking a motivated Practice Assistant. Prior administrative experience is not required.

This position is for someone who is ambitious, organized and looking for an excellent career opportunity in the legal profession. While the current need is for a Practice Assistant, there is the potential for possible advancement through the firm’s internal Paralegal training course.

Mr. Nissenbaum, the managing attorney, created a training course that he has been providing to new employees for the past 20 years. This course consists of modules that range in topics from commercial law to intellectual property. This provides employees with a one-on-one experience to learn directly from our managing attorney and set themselves up for success. We recognize that many of the people that apply to this job are considering seeking admission to law school.

Accordingly, our firm encourages the employees to take the LSAT and will provide a modest accommodation in the work hours to allow for test preparation.

Additionally, while the current need is for a Practice Assistant, potential for advancement may become available through our additional internal Paralegal training and duties, according to the opportunities and needs that arise in the practice.

About the Firm

The Nissenbaum Law Group is a boutique full service commercial law firm with eight attorneys and six paralegals. Its business clients range from small start-ups to multi-national companies. It also defends attorneys in ethics matters in the tri-state area of New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.

The firm is headquartered in Union, New Jersey and maintains additional offices in New York, Pennsylvania and Texas.

Responsibilities
  • The position requires professionalism and the capacity to maintain a high degree of confidentiality along with the ability to interface effectively with clients, attorneys and others as follows:
  • supporting attorneys with client intake,
  • responding to client inquiries,
  • coordinating calendars and appointments for members of the legal team,
  • processing mail and deliveries,
  • organizing client documentation within case management digital platforms, and
  • performing additional duties, administrative responsibilities and special projects as assigned.
  • The candidate must also have the ability to take dictation and typing at a rate of more than 65 WPM
About the Position
  • The firm does not require prior experience
    . Instead, it provides an extensive training and mentorship program for new hires, including a 2-4 week intensive program overseen by our managing attorney. This will allow candidates without a legal or administrative background to be quickly immersed in the field.
  • The position is fully in person at the Union, New Jersey location. The time commitment of this role is a minimum of 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
  • Compensation
    :
    Base Salary: $60,000-$70,000. The salary range does not guarantee, obligate, nor set expectations of an applicant’s salary in the event of hire. Actual compensation will depend upon a number of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s years of experience, qualifications and skill set.
