API SM Sourcing Manager

Position Summary

• Support end-to-end Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) procurement strategy for value generation.
• Translate business needs into sourcing strategies; shape supply base; drive supplier performance.

• Drive opportunity identification and capability uplift.
• Develop and execute category sourcing strategies (short/mid/long-term).
• Use market intelligence to identify value opportunities and proactively manage supply/cost risks.
• Deliver against business milestones; lead medium-to-large complex procurement projects.

• Build relationships with strategic suppliers; manage selection and due diligence.
• Negotiate commercial agreements/contracts balancing value, risk, and continuity.
• Identify cost reductions, quality improvements, and process efficiencies.
• Oversee contract lifecycle (renewals/amendments) with Legal.

• Represent Procurement in category/project forums.
• Partner with Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory, and R&D for launches and operational readiness.
• Support sustainable procurement and supplier diversity.

• Deliver cost-effective sourcing; drive cost avoidance/cash-flow improvements.
• Forecast/budget; manage procurement KPIs (CIP, Cash, Cost Avoidance, Inflation, etc.).
• Escalate supply/quality/regulatory risks; support contingency/continuity planning.

• Use procurement systems/analytics; promote digital/automation.
• Translate category needs into supplier innovation projects; lead through commercialization/qualification/verification.

• Bachelor’s degree (Supply Chain/Business/Engineering/Chemistry/Biological Sciences or related); MBA preferred.
• 8+ years procurement/category management.
• Strong negotiation, sourcing strategy, supplier management, and contract delivery.
• Strong analytics (Excel); familiarity with digital/AI procurement tools.
• Strong presentation and business-partner influence; project management.
