The listed pay range or pay rate reflects compensation for a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) position. Actual compensation may differ depending on assigned hours and position status (e.g., part-time).

Position Overview

Dispenses inventory items as requested or as identified through various inventory computer systems. Releases patient care equipment upon request, to and from various nursing units and other hospital departments. Creates replenishment orders and relocates inventory items from main storeroom to distribution location. Performs a variety of clerical duties related to inventory control.

Minimum Requirements

Education:

High school diploma or equivalency.

Experience:

One year previous experience with distribution functions and inventory control in a healthcare or retail environment.

Skills:

Working knowledge of computerized inventory systems. Understanding of distribution operations. Attention to detail with excellent communication skills and positive customer service skills. Special Training:
Basic computer skills.

Mental, Behavioral And Emotional Abilities

Usual Work Day: 8 Hours. Reporting Relationships:
Does this position formally supervise employees? No. If set to YES, then this position has the authority (delegated) to hire, terminate, discipline, promote or effectively recommend such to manager.

Essential Functions

Enters requisitions accurately into MMIS to provide expense distribution and decrement inventory values. Completes orders through physical removal of product in stated quantity and prepares for delivery. Maintains various types of supply units such as par carts and par closets in an organized fashion. Performs reorder of supplies through the use of hand held technology in order to maintain adequate inventory levels on nursing units and other areas as identified.

Performs the delivery to the required department and replaces items in the appropriate storage location per established layout. Issues out patient care equipment to nursing floors upon request and charges related supplies through MMIS (Lawson). Faxes copies of the request to appropriate location to be entered into patient charging system or business systems. Performs pick-up/removal of patient care equipment through request or visual inspection of the nursing units.

Develops the replenishment list of item to be relocated to dispensing area. Inputs actual inventory transfer between locations. Notifies supervisor when inventory levels for direct orders are insufficient. Communicates the status of pending inventory orders, inventory discrepancies, and problems related to the physical inventory to immediate supervisor. Assures that the area used for storage is neat and orderly at all times.

Meets all regulation requirements related to the storage of supplies as evidenced by periodic inspections and the use of MSDS guidelines related to storage of hazardous goods. Performs cycle counts of the physical inventory on a regular schedule under the direction of the supervisor. Assures items are placed in their correct bin location and rotates inventory to avoid expired or incorrect picks of supplies.

Keeps department records, stock orders, and files current and accurate.

Standing, Walking, Carry objects, Push/Pull, Twisting, Bending, Reaching forward, Reaching overhead, Talk or Hear. Occasional physical demands include:
Sitting, Climbing (e.g., stairs or ladders), Squat/kneel/crawl, Wrist position deviation, Pinching/fine motor activities, Keyboard use/repetitive motion.

Continuous Physical Demands Include

Lifting Floor to Waist 20 lbs. Lifting Waist Level and Above 10 lbs.

Sensory Requirements

Very Accurate 20/40, Near Vision, Accurate Far Vision, Color Discrimination, Minimal Depth Perception, Minimal Hearing
