Tecomet, a global leader in precision manufacturing, is seeking a CNC Machinist III for Swiss lathes on 2nd shift. In this role you will set up, operate, and troubleshoot complex Swiss CNC equipment to produce tight-tolerance orthopedic, medical device, and aerospace components. Responsibilities include reading blueprints, making program and tool offsets, performing in-process inspections, and maintaining documentation to meet strict quality and regulatory standards.
You'll collaborate with engineering and quality teams, support continuous improvement, and uphold a strong safety and 5S culture in a clean, regulated environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate Swiss CNC lathes for complex, tight-tolerance components
- Interpret blueprints, work instructions, and GD&T to meet specifications
- Make program, tool, and offset adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency
- Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring tools and record results
- Troubleshoot machining issues, tool wear, and dimensional nonconformances
- Maintain equipment, tools, and a clean, safe, 5
- S-compliant work area
- Follow quality and regulatory procedures for medical and aerospace components
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams on process improvements
- Document production, inspection data, and machine parameters accurately
- Support continuous improvement, lean, and cost-reduction initiatives
Required Skills
- Swiss CNC setup and operation
- CNC programming edits and offsets
- Reading blueprints and GD&TPrecision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators)
- Tight-tolerance machining for medical/aerospace parts
- In-process inspection and documentation
- Tool selection and wear troubleshooting
- Quality systems and regulatory compliance (ISO/AS/medical)
