The RWJBarnabas Health New Graduate RN Residency program is a one‑year program that provides new graduate RNs with a safe, caring, supportive and robust learning environment, enabling them to gain clinical competency and transition from student to professional practice.

• Preceptor and relationship‑guided transition program
• Continuing education and ongoing professional development
• Specialty‑specific foundational courses reflecting scope and standards of practice
• Application of professional accountability and ethical practice inherent in the RN role
• Recognition of the effects of skilled nursing practice on patient safety, quality and satisfaction
• Self‑care focus to maintain a safe and fulfilling practice for nurse and patient
• Mentorship to support the new graduate nurse through their first year of practice and beyond
• Hired into the area of specialty
• Variable day or night shift

• Graduate of an accredited ADN or BSN program
• NJ RN licensure prior to date of hire
• Less than 6 months of RN experience
• Commitment to orientation requirements
• BLS certification
