Experienced PACU RN needed for an 8-week Heart & Vascular OR contract in Trenton, NJ with weekday hours and no weekends or holidays.
We are seeking an experienced PACU Registered Nurse (RN) for an onsite contract opportunity in Trenton, New Jersey. This post‑anesthesia care unit nursing job supports recovery care within a Heart & Vascular OR environment and is ideal for a nurse who thrives in a fast‑paced surgical setting and values a consistent weekday schedule. - Weekly Estimated Pay: $2250-$2370
- Start Date: 7/20/2026
- Duration: 8-week contract
- Shift Duration: 10‑hour shifts
- Shift Time: 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Weekend/Holiday Requirement: No weekends and no holidays required
- EMR: Cerner
- Minimum 2 years of recent PACU RN experience required
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New Jersey
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification
- Current NIHSS certification
- PALS preferred
- Experience caring for post‑anesthesia patients in a surgical, cardiovascular, or perioperative recovery setting preferred
- Strong clinical judgment, patient monitoring, communication, and critical thinking skills
- Provide comprehensive post‑anesthesia nursing care for patients recovering from heart and vascular surgical procedures
- Monitor airway status, hemodynamic stability, pain control, and overall recovery progression in the PACU
- Assess patients for complications and respond quickly to changes in condition
- Support patient recovery and ongoing assessment in the PACU setting
- Collaborate with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and perioperative staff to support safe patient transitions
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Cerner
- Maintain accurate recovery documentation and communicate patient status updates to the care team
- Maintain a high standard of patient safety, quality, and compassionate care throughout the recovery process
