Patient Care Technician I - Per Diem, Variable Shift, Emergency Department, Atlantic Health Overlook Medical Center and Union

Responsible for assisting doctors and nursing staff in ensuring that the basic needs of each patient are met. Daily tasks might include feeding and cleaning patients or monitoring vital signs and health.

Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, feeding, and dressing.
  • Obtain and record vital signs, weights, and heights.
  • Assist patients with mobility: ambulation, transfer, discharges, and ROM activities.
  • Perform post mortem care.
  • Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and blood glucose monitoring.
  • Observe and report changes in patients' condition to the RN.
  • Maintain phlebotomy equipment and inventory.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • Current BLS certification.

Preferred:

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Patient, compassionate nature.
  • Ability to operate as part of a team, alongside physicians and nurses.
  • Proficiency in computer‑based data management programs and information systems.
