Cardiology Nurse Practitioner (NP/APN) or Physician Assistant (PA)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Cardiology Nurse Practitioner (NP/APN) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our growing cardiology team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality inpatient and outpatient cardiac care while collaborating closely with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities
  • Independently evaluate and manage cardiac patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • See an average of 10-15 inpatients per day and approximately 2 outpatient visits per hour.
  • Diagnose and treat acute, episodic, and chronic cardiac conditions.
  • Perform comprehensive physical examinations and develop treatment plans.
  • Prescribe medications and other appropriate treatments.
  • Perform cardiac stress testing (training provided if needed).
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cardiology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant required. (RN experience alone does not qualify).
  • Hospitalist experience may be considered if it includes significant cardiac patient care.
  • Comfortable evaluating and treating cardiac patients independently.
  • Prior critical care experience preferred.
  • Experience performing cardiac stress testing is preferred but not required.
  • Expert EKG interpretation skills.
  • Active New Jersey NP or PA license, CDS, and NJ DEA.
  • Proof of prior malpractice insurance coverage (including tail coverage, if applicable).
  • Willingness to complete hospital and insurance credentialing (approximately 3-6 months).
Schedule & Benefits
  • Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
  • No weekends or on-call responsibilities
