Assistant Director Of Clinical Services
The Assistant Director of Clinical Services is responsible for supporting the overall clinical operations of the hospice program and assisting the Director of Clinical Services in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, compassionate, and compliant patient care. This position is in office Monday-Friday 8:30AM-4:30PM.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist the Director of Clinical Services with the daily oversight and management of hospice clinical operations.
Provide clinical leadership, guidance, and support to nursing staff and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
Assist with supervising, mentoring, and evaluating clinical staff to promote high-quality patient care and professional development.
Monitor patient care, clinical documentation, care plans, and services to ensure compliance with agency policies and regulatory requirements.
Review clinical documentation for completeness, accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to hospice standards.
Ensure appropriate coordination of care between physicians, nurses, hospice aides, social workers, chaplains, volunteers, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
Identify clinical concerns, documentation deficiencies, and opportunities for improvement and work with staff and leadership to implement corrective actions.
Support preparation for regulatory surveys, accreditation reviews, and internal audits.
Assist with the development, implementation, and enforcement of clinical policies, procedures, and best practices.
Assist with addressing patient, family, and caregiver concerns and ensure appropriate follow-up and resolution.
Collaborate with the Administrator, Director of Clinical Services, Medical Director, and other leadership team members regarding clinical operations and quality initiatives.
Monitor staffing needs and assist with ensuring appropriate clinical coverage and continuity of patient care.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Clinical Services or Administrator.
Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New Jersey.
Minimum of five (5) years of hospice experience required.
Previous clinical leadership, supervisory, or management experience strongly preferred.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Thorough knowledge of hospice philosophy, standards of care, clinical documentation, and interdisciplinary care planning.
Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively with employees across multiple departments.
Ability to provide professional guidance, coaching, and support while maintaining accountability and high clinical standards.
