A leading industrial services organization is seeking an experienced Safety Coordinator to lead and advance the company's health, safety, and environmental initiatives. This role is responsible for the development, implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of safety programs, policies, training, and communications across the organization.

The Safety Coordinator serves as a key advisor to leadership and employees, fostering a proactive, zero-incident safety culture while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. This individual will play a critical role in promoting employee well-being, environmental stewardship, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Champion the implementation of safety strategies, policies, and initiatives that support a company-wide zero-injury safety culture.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and communicate regulatory and legislative changes impacting workplace health and safety.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies, clients, and external safety organizations regarding safety compliance matters.
  • Manage and maintain all required safety documentation, recordkeeping, and reporting processes.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments to evaluate compliance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Assess the safety performance of project teams, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure adherence to established standards.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to leaders and employees regarding safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Develop, implement, and update safety programs, procedures, and training materials to meet regulatory and client requirements.
  • Maintain contractor management and safety compliance platforms, ensuring all records and certifications remain current.
  • Partner with Risk Management and operational leadership to investigate claims, identify hazards, reduce risk exposure, and support return-to-work programs.
  • Lead investigations involving incidents, injuries, and near-miss events, conducting root cause analyses and recommending corrective actions.
  • Evaluate and recommend external resources, programs, and training opportunities that strengthen the organization's safety culture.
  • Prepare reports, safety metrics, and compliance documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Deliver engaging safety training programs designed to improve employee awareness and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Promote continuous improvement through safety awareness campaigns and employee engagement initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Safety, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a safety, health, or environmental role within an industrial, manufacturing, construction, or related environment.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety compliance requirements.
  • Experience conducting workplace audits, inspections, incident investigations, and risk assessments.
  • Proficiency in developing and delivering safety training programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Familiarity with workers' compensation programs, claims management, and return-to-work processes.
  • Knowledge of environmental compliance requirements and best practices.
  • Experience managing contractor qualification or safety compliance platforms is preferred.
  • First Aid, CPR, OSHA, CSP, ASP, CHST, or similar certifications are highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership and influence skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
