Job Overview
A full‑time Research Assistant position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Nick Timme in the Department of Pharmacology, Physiology, and Neurobiology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. The role involves coordinating laboratory projects or research studies in neuroscience and making independent contributions to projects and studies based on professional training or functional experience. Research will focus on understanding decision‑making and addiction using rodent models.
EssentialFunctions
- Perform standard wet‑lab and animal behavior experiments and record data according to research protocols.
- Interpret data and assist in judging validity of data; may perform statistical and graphical analysis of data.
- Assist with animal colony management and animal husbandry.
- Apply research principles for less complex assignments.
- Manage IACUC and IBC protocols.
- Purchase supplies and maintain laboratory organizational structure.
- Perform related duties based on departmental need.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training may be used in lieu of the education requirement.
- Additional related work experience may be required depending on field or discipline.
