Job Description

Industrial Maintenance Mechanic (Trenton, NJ) – Direct Placement Opportunity in Manufacturing

Location: Trenton, NJ

Pay Rate: $29.26/hr – $34.25/hr

Shifts Available:

  • 2nd Shift: Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
  • 4th Shift: Friday–Sunday, 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must meet at least one of the following requirements:

  • Journeyman Card
  • 10+ years of industrial maintenance experience
  • Relevant technical schooling, certification, or formal training
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance on industrial machinery including motors, engines, conveyors, pneumatic tools, and production systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Diagnose equipment issues using precision measuring and diagnostic tools
  • Dismantle, repair, and rebuild mechanical components using hand and power tools
  • Inspect and measure parts using calipers, micrometers, and other precision instruments
  • Adjust, align, and calibrate mechanical systems and equipment
  • Fabricate and repair components using machine shop equipment such as:
    • Lathes
    • Milling machines
    • Drill presses
    • Welding equipment
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Maintain inventory of parts, tools, and supplies
  • Use computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for documentation and tracking
  • Communicate equipment issues and repair solutions clearly to team members and supervisors
  • Support training and development of junior mechanics and apprentices
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times
  • Follow all safety procedures, policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Skills & Experience
  • Strong background in industrial maintenance or machine repair
  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Welding and fabrication skills
  • Blueprint reading and mechanical drawing interpretation
  • Experience with machine shop tools and equipment
  • Preventive maintenance and troubleshooting expertise
  • Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
  • Experience in fast-paced manufacturing environments
Additional Requirements
  • Must be able to pass a medical examination, including X-ray
  • Ability to perform physically demanding industrial work
