Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrician to perform complex electrical work in an industrial maintenance environment for our client in Trenton, NJ! The ideal candidate will have experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems, working with high‑voltage equipment, and interpreting engineering documentation. This role requires a commitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify electrical hazards and safely isolate, ground, and prepare circuits for repair.
  • Utilize appropriate PPE for arc flash and shock protection.
  • Read and troubleshoot from electrical blueprints and schematics (240V and 480V 3‑phase systems).
  • Maintain and troubleshoot motor control centers, motor starters, generators, switch gear, and protective relays.
  • Install, calibrate, and maintain electrical apparatus from complex engineering or manufacturer’s documentation.
  • Install conduit, pull wire, and terminate wiring.
  • Use test equipment including multimeters, ammeters, megohm meters, high‑potential testers, and oscilloscopes.
  • Work with electrical hand and power tools.
  • Install and maintain electrical distribution equipment (switches, relays, breakers, control panels).
  • Support drive systems including VFDs, DC drives, and eddy‑current drives.
  • Perform point‑to‑point wiring and equipment replacement for PLC systems.
  • Install and calibrate instrumentation (pressure, temperature, flow, level controls).
  • Detect hazards and recommend necessary adjustments to installed systems.
  • Design and layout panel wiring and complex control systems.
  • Replace or repair electrical components, including meters, controls, outlets, panels, and motors.
  • Document work activity and ensure effective handoff to other shifts.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment in compliance with regulations.
  • Train and support line mechanics and apprentices as needed.
  • Utilize a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Adhere to safe work practices and company procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as an industrial or maintenance electrician.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and familiarity with high‑voltage systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals.
  • Proficient in the use of electrical testing tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must pass a medical examination, including X‑ray.
  • No serious medical conditions that could affect job performance.
