Field Service Technician
Location:
Remote Field Office – Cumberland County, NJ (Remote employee).
- Provide fuel cell service during the shift at the primary site.
- Operate a service vehicle safely.
- Create daily workflows from a list of scheduled tasks and work autonomously.
- Manage on‑site preventative maintenance, repair, testing, and diagnostic tasks.
- Follow company procedures and protocols.
- Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine/implement proper solutions.
- Cooperate with the technical team and share information across the organization.
- Comprehend and follow customer access requirements.
- Maintain the service vehicle and spare‑part inventory.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers.
- Produce timely and detailed service reports as required.
- Complete daily administrative duties such as closing service appointments and debriefing parts.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
- Travel up to 40% to support the company’s needs for additional projects.
- Work a Tuesday‑Saturday or Sunday‑Thursday schedule.
- Provide on‑call rotation for possible on‑site support after qualification.
- High school diploma & 6 years of experience in electrical, process controls, or electro‑mechanical fields.
- OR Technical diploma, Journeyman Certification, Electrician Certification in a technical field, and 4 years of relevant industry experience.
- OR 5 years or more of relevant experience in commercial electrical combined with electrical‑related military experience (e.g., Navy Nuclear Electronics/Electrical Technician).
- Strong electrical troubleshooting/diagnostic skills.
- Familiar with safety standards, especially OSHA & NFPA 70E.
- Prior experience as an electrician or electrical technician working with three‑phase systems, UPS, electrical generation/distribution systems, power electronics, automatic transfer switches, and microprocessor‑based control platforms.
- Experience with electrical/electronic test and measurement equipment.
- Able to read and interpret electrical single‑line diagrams and blueprints.
- Experience performing equipment maintenance in accordance with ANSI/NETA standards for Electrical Power.
- Mechanical system aptitude, including troubleshooting/repair skills.
- Highly motivated and able to work autonomously.
- Demonstrates sound judgment in resolving complex problems.
- Team player who exhibits integrity and professionalism.
- Effective written and verbal communication in English.
- Comfortable working from elevated heights up to 20ft.
- Capable of handling equipment up to 50lbs, occasionally up to 70lbs.
- Able to reach, squat, bend, and twist during the workday.
- Able to use a ladder or step stool regularly.
- Able to facilitate 24X7 on‑call duty, shift work, and overtime as needed.
- Travel up to 40% required.
- Nice to have: prior experience with electromechanical components.
Salary ranges: $28.02 - $40.32.
