Diesel Mechanic - 2nd Shift

Job Summary

Diesel Mechanic position at WM located in Trenton, NJ hauling site. Responsible for maintaining and repairing diesel equipment and trucks servicing national customers. Work second shift, Monday-Friday 3:00 pm–12:00 am, occasional weekends as needed.

Starting salary of $33.84 - $34.34 per hour. Tool allowance $1,500 per year, boot allowance $275 per year. Health, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, 401(k) plan with company match, paid vacation, holidays, and personal days.

Monday–Friday, 3:00 pm–12:00 am (second shift). Occasional weekends as needed. Work at a repair/maintenance shop at the Trenton, NJ hauling site.

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment.
• Estimate time and material costs for vehicle repairs and new parts.
• Perform work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
• Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
• Conduct safety checks on vehicles and maintain a safe work environment per OSHA standards.
• Complete required paperwork documenting parts usage and repair times.
• Assist senior mechanics in project work and Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.

• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Over 18 years of age.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and physical exam.

• Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, climbing and standing; occasional sitting and balancing.
• Exposure to cuts, burns, toxic chemicals, dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes.
• Work may take place in indoor garage, shop, gas plant, or outdoor conditions with inclement weather, heat, and humidity.
