Our client, a leading manufacturing and industrial technology company
, is looking to hire a Maintenance Electrician in Trenton, NJ
.

Pay Rate: $34.25/hour

Schedule:

  • 2nd Shift: Monday-Friday, 2:00 PM-10:00 PM

Responsibilities:

  • Identify electrical hazards and safely isolate, ground, and prepare circuits and equipment for repair.
  • Use required PPE and follow established procedures to protect against arc flash and electrical shock.
  • Read, interpret, and troubleshoot electrical blueprints and schematics, including 240V and 480V three-phase systems
    .
  • Troubleshoot and maintain motor control centers, motor start circuits, control loops, generators, high-voltage switch gear, protective relays, and related electrical equipment.
  • Install, calibrate, maintain, and repair electrical apparatus using engineering drawings, technical manuals, and specifications.
  • Install conduit, pull wiring, and perform proper electrical terminations.
  • Use electrical and electronic testing equipment, including multimeters, ammeters, megohm meters, high-potential testers, oscilloscopes, and digital probes.
  • Install and maintain electrical distribution and control equipment, including switches, relays, circuit breakers, and electrical panels.
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot drive systems, including VFDs, eddy current drives, and DC drive systems.
  • Perform installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of PLC systems, including point-to-point wiring and equipment replacement.
  • Install and calibrate pressure, temperature, flow, and level control devices.
  • Observe operating systems to identify electrical hazards and determine the need for adjustments or modifications.
  • Design and lay out control panels, configure complex control systems, and modify engineering drawings when required.
  • Repair or replace faulty electrical equipment, including electronic controls, motors, meters, outlets, panels, and related components.
  • Document completed work and communicate electrical issues, irregularities, and ongoing maintenance needs to the team.
  • Use the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to enter, update, and retrieve maintenance information.
  • Assist in training line mechanics and apprentices as needed.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment while following all company procedures and applicable regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with maintenance and production personnel to diagnose and resolve electrical problems.
  • Follow safe work practices at all times and ensure work is performed without creating hazards for others.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience strongly preferred.
  • Journeyman-level electrical experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems and manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience troubleshooting 240V and 480V three-phase electrical systems
    .
  • Experience with motor control centers, motor starters, control circuits, generators, switch gear, protective relays, and electrical distribution systems.
  • Hands‑on experience with PLC systems, VFDs, DC drives, and eddy current drives
    .
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, engineering drawings, and technical manuals.
  • Experience installing conduit, pulling wire, performing terminations, and installing electrical control equipment.
  • Proficiency using electrical testing equipment, including multimeters, ammeters, megohm meters, high-potential testers, oscilloscopes, and digital probes.
  • Experience installing and calibrating industrial instrumentation for pressure, temperature, flow, and level controls.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety practices, PPE requirements, arc-flash protection, and electrical shock prevention.
