The Rescue Mission of Trenton is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and community-minded Certified Peer Recovery Specialist to join our Mercer County Wellness Center team. This position provides meaningful support to individuals as they work toward personal recovery, wellness, stability, and greater community connection.
The ideal candidate brings strong listening skills, empathy, encouragement, and a genuine desire to help others navigate resources and achieve their goals. In this role, you will serve as a trusted peer, advocate, mentor, and resource navigator while helping create a welcoming and supportive environment.
- Welcome participants and provide a supportive, respectful experience at the Mercer County Wellness Center.
- Complete participant intake and assist with developing individual action plans.
- Connect individuals with community resources, programs, and supportive services.
- Make referrals and assist participants with scheduling appointments and transportation.
- Provide follow-up and encouragement to help individuals stay connected to services.
- Assist with workshops, educational programs, wellness activities, and community events.
- Promote recovery, self-care, healthy living, and community engagement.
- Maintain accurate and timely participant documentation and records.
- Help ensure the Mercer County Wellness Center remains safe, clean, and welcoming.
- Participate in staff meetings, required training, and other program activities.
- High school diploma or GED required;
Associate degree preferred. - Relevant experience may be considered in place of educational requirements.
- Strong communication, active listening, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build trusting relationships and work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Must obtain Peer Recovery Specialist Certification within 6 months of hire.
Schedule:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm, Tuesdays, and Thursdays 11:00 - 7:00
Pay:$22.92 per hour
