Job Title
Quality Engineer I or II
LocationTrenton, OH (100% onsite)
Pay$45 - $52/hour
Duration3-6 month contract to potential hire
Job Function SummaryResponsible for developing quality documentation, facilitating continuous improvements, and working with suppliers and customers to resolve quality or system issues.
Core Responsibilities- Develop and maintain APQP documentation (FMEA, MSA, SPC, PPAP) and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 standards
- Lead root cause analysis, CAPA, and problem‑solving efforts using standard quality tools
- Interface directly with customers and internal teams to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement
- Maintain QMS documentation, support audits, and ensure effective document control
- Provide training, guidance, and mentorship to team members
- Lead quality support for new product launches, ensuring readiness through PPAP and zero‑defect launch goals
- Develop and manage control plans, inspection plans, and gage requirements
- Participate in DFM, GD&T, and process planning reviews
- Support new business by defining measurement strategies and estimating gage costs
- Ensure adherence to process control plans and drive resolution of production quality issues
- Implement containment actions and corrective actions to prevent recurrence
- Develop and improve inspection methods, testing systems, and quality controls
- Manage supplier quality issues, including audits, performance monitoring, and corrective actions (SCARs)
- Ensure suppliers meet ISO/IATF and customer requirements
- Support supplier selection, development, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support continuous improvement, team development, and cross‑functional collaboration
- Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering or related field required. Equivalent work experience may be substituted for a degree.
- A minimum of 2-5 years of Quality Engineer experience, preferably in an automotive manufacturing environment.
- Advanced knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack up applications preferred, not required
- Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems, e.g. ISO 9001, TS16949 and ITF
16949. - Experience with Product Warranty documentation.
- Advanced project management skills using Microsoft applications.
- Demonstrated competency in the use of problem solving tools, e.g., 5 why, 8D, Ishakawa Diagram, Root Cause Analysis, etc.
