Gibson Electric Membership Corporation has a Vice President of Broadband and IT position now open for our Trenton Member Service Center.
Position Summary:
Manages the business functions of the broadband subsidiary. Manages Gibson Electric’s and Gibson Connect’s technical service (IT) activities, including cybersecurity and AI utilization. Manages Gibson’s fiber optic network, including middle-mile.
Qualified applicants must have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering or closely related field.
- Valid Class D Tennessee Driver’s License
- Five years of progressively responsible experience in information technology and/or fiber/telecommunications
- Five years of supervisory/management experience
- Knowledge of complex telecommunication network systems operations
- Thorough knowledge of federal and state regulations related to internet, voice and video services
- Three years of experience leading cybersecurity efforts
It is preferred that the applicant have certifications or courses related to information technology and fiber/telecommunications and five or more years of experience managing the operation of a division of telecommunications in an electric cooperative; managing technical services in the electrical distribution field, preferably with a cooperative; and supervisory experience at an electric distribution cooperative.
