Description
Job Summary: Performs as an instructor in a regular classroom setting, presenting instruction for and coordinating activities of the Security and Protective Services program.
Duties/Responsibilities:- Monday - Friday 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM
- Promotes a positive and desirable atmosphere within the classroom setting to ensure maximum student motivation, progress, and completion.
- Creates and delivers daily lesson plans or weekly work plans covering all curricular, state, national, and Department of Labor requirements.
- Establishes a high degree of student/instructor rapport.
- Facilitates administration of all relevant student certification testing.
- Conducts/facilitates physical demonstrations and fitness activities relevant to meeting training objectives.
- Records daily student attendance and maintains daily student accountability.
- Responsible for accountability of all equipment, supplies, and materials within classroom.
- Accountable for the cleanliness and organization of classroom.
- Responsible for reports required by the Supervisor such as monthly reports on case-management of students, purchase requisitions, and weekly student evaluations.
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum: Currently holds a Guard Card or Guard Trainer Certification from the State in which you work in. Possesses practical experience in the subject/training area; must have the ability to transfer topical knowledge to meet specific learning objectives; extensive practical knowledge of Security and Protective Services careers and fields. Certified Protection Officer Instructor Certification or ability to become certified. Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent and satisfy minimum qualifications criteria relating to education, teaching experience, formal training, and security experience.
Preferred: Career Technical Training or Adult Education Teaching Credential;
Bachelor’s degree in related field;
Certified Protection Officer Instructor Certification;
Teaching or training experience within the security field.
