Job Description & How to Apply Below
The department is seeking a colleague whose work complements and augments the research of our current faculty across the department. We are also seeking a candidate who can offer courses that expand and support our existing curriculum at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Our department is dedicated to excellent teaching in a liberal arts environment and welcomes opportunities to work with, mentor, and advise students from diverse backgrounds, academic interests, and learning styles. The successful candidate will teach two courses per semester in a normal academic year. Troy University has a long tradition of in-person and online education, so we seek an anthropologist who will welcome the opportunity to teach in both formats each year.
Strong research credentials, a promising scholarly agenda, and service to the department, college, university, and discipline are also essential.
Responsibilities include teaching archaeologically focused courses half-time and dedicating half-time to managing the Archaeology lab. Lab duties include artifact processing and cataloging, curating archaeological collections in compliance with state and federal regulations, and training students in archaeological laboratory and field methods. For more information, contact Dr. Stephen Carmody (scarmody).
