The Workship – Writing Center Tutor position in Instructional Support Services is responsible for tutoring Troy University students in writing improvement.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be a current Troy University student enrolled at least half-time.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Completion of English 1101/1102 or 1103/1104, earning at least a B in each course.
• One recommendation from English faculty.
• Good interpersonal communication skills.
• Commitment to the goals and objectives of the Writing Center.
• Excellent writing skills as evidenced in application essay.
• Willingness to help actively promote Learning Center services, events, and activities.
• Student positions are FICA/Medicare exempt only if students are enrolled in classes in the semester work is performed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of APA Style, MLA Style, and/or other writing formats to help students avoid plagiarism issues.
• Online and in-person tutoring experience.

- Varies according to Writing Center needs and student's schedule.
